Apneists UK are running a series of introductory one day open water freediving taster courses over the 2025 summer months.
The AIDA 1 Freediver course is the perfect way to explore the underwater world like never before. This can be completed as a standalone course, either designed as a taster and so you can join Apneists UK on their outdoor trips, or it can be used to progress onto further freediver education such as AIDA 2 and above.

The purpose of this course is to familiarise students with the skills, knowledge, planning, organisation, safety procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of breath hold freediving. Students will be introduced to the basic disciplines of freediving; Static apnea, Free immersion and Constant weight freediving.

Additional information
To enroll in the AIDA 1 Introduction to freediving course, an individual must:
Be 18 years of age or older
(16 or 17 years with parent or guardian consent)
2. Be able to swim at least 100m nonstop
3. Have completed the AIDA Medical Form
4. Have completed the Liability Release
5. Join our beginner friendly AIDA 1 Freediving courses to learn the basics of freediving, including breath-holding techniques, safe equalisation, and relaxation methods. Our certified instructor will guide you through practical pool sessions, helping you develop the skills and knowledge necessary for an enjoyable freediving experience.
